Research

The interventions described on this site are based on the research of Dan Olweus of Norway, Susan Limber of the US Olweus bullying prevention program, and many others in the field. Much of that research is cited in Schools Where Everyone Belongs.

In addition, staff and administrators at the James H. Bean School in Sidney, ME have been implementing these interventions since 1999. Here is a detailed summary of what the Bean School has done and survey data showing significant reductions in reports of bullying 1999-2005.
